Paver Sealer

A paver sealer is an extremely helpful aid to the homeowner or business owner concerned that their driveways will steadily decline over time. Driveways and other paved walkways are a serious test for pavement. These surfaces are regularly trafficked by heavy vehicles and usually under constant barrage from high heat, freezing temperatures and water. A weak stone will quickly fall apart, degrade, and lose its vibrant color under such conditions and even quality pavement shouldn’t be expected to last under these conditions without trouble.

Pavement and other walking /driving surfaces can also be victim to a host of other troubles as well. Mold, moss, and plants can easily seep their way to inside the stone or underneath it, which can be a terrible headache for anyone trying to keep their paved areas looking clean.

A sealer will help to prevent all of these problems with a simple application and general upkeep. A sealer creates a chemical layer that rejects moisture from rain and cushions the damage of heavy weights. Additionally, it will absorb cold and heat easily, contracting and expanding so the stone, which is brittle, doesn’t have to. Finally, the layer will prevent invasion from both biological and chemicals elements. On top of this, sealants will work to keep the stones and pavement looking clean.

There are two basic styles of sealers – penetrants and film formers. Film will coat the stone, while penetrants will actually sink into the stone to form a chemical layer. Each is better for different kinds of stones depending upon how porous it is.
